The challenge

Reed’s international franchise team, spearheaded by Rob Barklamb and Toby Moyse, was tasked with helping Wayne Hulbert enhance his recruitment practice and be seen as a leading recruitment provider in Warsaw and Kraków, Poland. 

With more than 20 years of experience within the recruitment industry, Wayne is an expert when it comes to recruiting quality talent that helps organisations reach their full potential, but he was looking for a brand to associate his business with. 

Wayne said: “Having worked in recruitment for a long time, I'm aware of what a franchise should be and what I think a franchisee needs in order to be successful. I was looking for a brand that could help my business grow, and provide a good infrastructure and services to strengthen our offering to potential clients in Poland.”

The solution

Given Reed’s vast experience in helping franchisees set up their own recruitment business, Rob and Toby developed an approach which ensured that Wayne could grow his business and attract the right clientele. 

Rob said: “Prior to Wayne joining, we held a series of meetings with him and his team to project plan their conversion because they were an existing business with goals and objectives already in place.

“We spoke a lot around technology, marketing, training, and business operations. We then conducted an induction for the team in Poland to bring them inside the Reed network and give them access to our international network of recruitment experts.” 

Wayne was keen to utilise the industry leading technology, learning and development, marketing, and operational support that Reed offers. Harnessing Reed’s plethora of resources, Wayne and the franchise partnership team were able to look at the gaps in his business model and clearly define the support he needed. 

“I think the training offered was very good on how to use the systems and thankfully there was a big support team behind us. We aren’t your normal franchisee, usually a recruiter coming out of a job, setting up a one-man desk on their own. That was never the plan for us,” Wayne added. 

“Having things like the website and our social media sites taken care of, helped create that interest in our brand. The fact that we've got somebody there in the background, tweaking the websites, making the changes, driving traffic to it; all of that I found really positive about Reed’s offer.”  


The results

From the initial onboarding process to ongoing support and access to a wider recruitment network, Reed has supported Wayne and his team in growing its workforce offering, helping to expand the business while providing industry-leading recruitment, marketing, and technology support. 

Rob said: “We continue to provide Wayne and his team with ongoing training; they’ve hired two new staff recently and we've conducted training with them. We also provide ongoing IT support and it's really pleasing to see that Wayne’s new recruits are making full use of our learning and development courses.” 

Toby added: “Wayne and his team are always extremely grateful for the help that we provide them with. It feels great to be able to solve problems for our franchise partners and be able to help their business thrive.” 

Wayne has expressed his delight with the partnership so far, stating that the franchise team have provided the much-needed support and guidance to help his team reach their targets.
